Program Description:

At least two topics from each of the following areas: medieval and renaissance literature 1375‚1625 (origins and development of older Scots; middle Scots narrative verse; Henryson and Dunbar; literature of the reformation; poetry of the reign of James VI and I; poetry and fiction 1750-1900 (linguistic relations in Eighteenth century Scotland; Fergusson and Burns; the Scottish novel, 1750-1830; Nineteenth century poetry; Victorian fiction); poetry, fiction and drama since 1920 (modern Scots; McDiarmid and the Scots renaissance; the modern Scottish novel; Scottish poetry since 1940; Twentieth century Scottish drama). Classroom applications option in each area.
