Clinical Practice for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors
The School of Care Sciences offers a course of study leading to the above qualification. The course is designed to enable the graduate to make a significant contribution, both directly and indirectly to the development, delivery and evaluation of the nursing service provided in his/her clinical field. It has a distinctive practice-based focus and integrates practice-based learning with university-based learning through the process of co-operative inquiry. The course is suitable for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors who are practising in a capacity which involves a significant degree of autonomy in decision making. This will include some control of resources although not necessarily at a high level. Prospective course participants must be employed in a role that involves direct contact with patients/clients.
