Program Description:

Our MA Cultural and Social History offers you modules in social and cultural history, dealing with a range of areas, themes and periods, which place you at the cutting-edge of historical thought on issues such as gender, race, class, modernity, mentalities and identities. You explore the varied ways in which understandings of the relationship between evidence and interpretation, language and the material world, economies and identities, have been challenged and changed by the ‘cultural turn’. Graduates of MA Cultural and Social History gain key employability skills like a greater understanding of the specificity of different cultures, as well as the ability to create a brief, analytical reasoning, the marshalling of information, problem solving, and presentation skills.
