Our former PhD students have gone on to work in legal practice, commerce and industry, the non-governmental organisation sector and academia, including the academic community in our School of Law at Essex. Our School of Law has an international reputation for providing a legal education of the highest quality. In particular, in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE, December 2008) 90 per cent of our research was rated as of ‘internationally excellent’ or ‘internationally recognised’ quality.
