Program Description:

This programme, organised by the Graduate School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures, can be taken as either a 12-month full-time programme or a 24-month part-time programme. It is taught through a combination of lectures and exercises in practical translation, in conjunction with individual tutorials, student presentations and guest lectures.  A wide variety of languages are currently available for the practical translation components of our MSc in Translation Studies. For 2016/17 we expect to be able to offer practical sessions in translating between English and the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Danish, French, German, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish & Turkish. Please note that you should have native speaker competence in any languages that you apply to work with other than English. The Translation Studies Graduate Programme brings together the expertise of core staff in translation studies with language/literature-specific academics from the constitutive disciplines of the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh.
