PG Certificate Advanced Musculoskeletal Research and Practice (Part time)

Format: Campus

Program Description:

Musculoskeletal conditions include joint diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, back and neck pain, osteoporosis and fragility fractures, soft tissue rheumatism, injuries due to sports and in the workplace, and trauma commonly related to traffic accidents. This programme provides an opportunity for you to develop and advance skills that are essential in the clinical care of people with musculoskeletal disorders. It offers a unique opportunity to focus your learning on the most relevant topics for you, through a range of themed study days and optional modules. The structure of this course is different to that of a traditional Master’s degree, in that the two compulsory musculoskeletal assessment and management modules are each comprised of attendance to at least 4 musculoskeletal study days. You select the areas you are most interested in from a range of 15 topics each year, ensuring that the syllabus is always relevant to your professional requirements. Optional modules vary from study of leadership and management practice to treating long-term conditions, to ensure that you have both a theoretical platform and practical knowledge relevant to the subject area. The course is part-time, meaning that the MSc takes 3 years, while the Postgraduate Certificate takes 1 year.
