M.A. - Medical Sociology
Medical sociology is a central discipline in health services research, the largest single specialism in British sociology, and a particular research strength at UEA. The core units are: Issues in the Sociology of Health and Illness; Culture, Illness and Healing; Social Inequalities in Health; Theories of Society and Politics; and Methods of Social Enquiry. Optional units include The Body and Society; and The History of Medicine. The course is recognised by the ESRC and has research training weighting. UK and EU candidates are eligible for studentships.
