Program Description:

This course is designed for those wishing to gain a practical understanding of environmental issues associated within manufacturing and service industries. It meets the intellectual and practical needs of professionals within both industry and the regulatory organisations involved in managing pollution arising from industrial processes. The course is designed for environmental professionals working in a business environment from either a technical or non-technical background. The course is designed and delivered by a team of leading academics with support from leading-edge industrial practitioners. The course delivery team is actively engaged in research and consultancy activities, through the Urban Water Technology Centre (UWTC). The Centre benefits from close links with the research groups the Scottish Informatics, Mathematics, Biology and Statistics Centre (SIMBIOS), and Abertay Centre for the Environment (ACE) who have been awarded the highest research rating in Environmental Science within Scotland. Emphasis is given to the practical application of environmental management within industry and commerce, in addition to the appropriate theoretical rigour. These courses have strong industrial links and are accredited by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), the pre-eminent professional institution of the sector.
