Advanced Computer Science

Program Description:

The MSc in Advanced Computer Science is a new programme which builds on our well established degree programme in e-Commerce Technologies, funded by the EPSRC. The programme has been updated to incorporate new technologies which are gaining commercial importance and quickly becoming essential. For example, “mobile computing” technologies are now central to many commercial applications, as are recent technologies for interpreting and visualising geographical data. The new programme is designed to meet the national need for skilled, business aware technologists in electronic commerce and related areas. The IT industry has identified a critical shortage of advanced computer specialists who are familiar not only with existing technologies, but also the leading edge. In the six years of our established e-Commerce Technologies programme we can boast a number of success stories, including graduates who have established companies in the e-Business sector.
