Program Description:

Research in the Applied Linguistics section of the department focusses on corpus linguistics, stylistics, discourse, and vocabulary acquisition and testing. Opportunities exist to undertake research in different areas of Language Studies. For further information, please contact the Postgraduate Admissions Tutor. A postgraduate degree is usually either a taught degree in which seminar involvement governs study or a research degree in which a research project develops an original contribution to learning. It involves systematic study and requires students to relate the results of their study to the general body of knowledge in the subject. Postgraduate courses at Swansea are supported by the Postgraduate Research Faculty Office and by the individual departments or Schools.
