College of Arts and Humanities
MA Translation with Language Technology
This is a Taught Masters Programme
The MATLT is offered through the Department of Languages, Translation and Media in the College of Arts and Humanities. The MA is a professionally focused, integrated course designed to turn entrants with proven foreign language competence into successful and marketable future professionals equipped with the skills now in demand in the language services industry world wide, including the key ability to develop their own specialisms. Our philosophy can be summed up in the phrase ‘hands on’: students learn by doing and we aim to teach strategies as much as solutions, based on our own extensive experience of working as and training translators. Successful MATLT graduates are now employed all over the world as freelance and in-house translators, project managers, terminologists, software developers and in many other fields.
