PGCE (Incorporating the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
This programme aims to provide graduates with the opportunity to develop professional knowledge, understanding, skills and values to become teachers, tutors and/or trainers in the lifelong learning sector (post-16 education and training).
This programme is suitable for applicants wishing to teach in further education colleges, adult and community education, work-based training providers, offender learning and public sector organisations.
The University will arrange an appropriate teaching placement and a subject specialist mentor. This will include teaching observations by tutors and mentors.
The programme consists of three core modules:
• Learning, teaching and assessment
• Curriculum and society
• Wider practice and professional development
Plus one enhancement module.
International Student Requirements:
The minimum IELTS score for acceptable English proficiency for entry is normally 6.5.
