Program Description:

The Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching English for Academic Purposes (TEAP) will provide you with the core competencies required for the design and delivery of effective teaching programmes in EAP, while furthering your knowledge across the range of key concepts and issues related to teaching EAP. The general teaching aims of the course are to develop the knowledge and skills required of an expert EAP practitioner. These elements are based on the competency framework used by BALEAP, the global forum for EAP professionals: - Academic practice: academic contexts, disciplinary practice, academic discourse, personal learning, development and autonomy - EAP students: student needs, student critical thinking, student autonomy - Curriculum development: syllabus and programme development, text processing and text production - Programme implementation: teaching practices, assessment practices
