Program Description:

This exciting programme is a joint venture between the School of Health Studies and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It is the first of its kind to provide level 3 and Master’s modules leading to an MSc award, and aims to address the complex needs of people with chronic oedema. Students who successfully complete 60 credits will be eligible for the award of Postgraduate Certificate in Lymphoedema Practice. Students completing a further 60 credits are eligible for the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Lymphoedema Practice, and students completing the dissertation for a further 60 credits, on a topic related to their area of practice, will be eligible for the award of MSc. The programme aims to develop you as an advanced practitioner in lymphoedema management and enable you to apply your specialist knowledge and skills in the management of patients with mild, moderate, complex and palliative lymphoedema needs. You will be supported to enhance your knowledge and skills through evidence-based innovative practice, and research and scholarship in the field of lymphology. The modules address specialist skills and knowledge, including manual lymphatic drainage, Casley-Smith method and multi-layer lymphoedema bandaging (MLLB).
