The MRes Medical Biosciences programme at Northumbria University has been designed to help you develop your knowledge and understanding of the laboratory investigation of disease and apply that in a postgraduate research setting. It will be particularly applicable to you if you are working in the hospital pathology service and wish to pursue a research career in a particular discipline.
The flexible structure of the course will enable you to select modules and, in discussion with your tutor, select a project of relevance to the subject area and your own interests. Great care is taken to ensure that the programme provides knowledge and skills, and uses tools, techniques and methods which are immediately useful to employers, both in the UK and overseas. You will develop transferable skills during the course with the emphasis on personal time management, problem solving abilities and life-long independent learning.
You will study a number of optional modules in addition to core modules:
* Graduate Science Research Methods
* Subject Exploration
* Research Proposal
* MRes Project
Further details about these core modules and all optional modules are available via the Module Information link on the Northumbria University website
