The programme complies with the UK standards for specialist training in orthodontics by the SAC of the Royal Colleges. On successful completion of training, you will have achieved the academic standards and clinical experience required for the MOrth examinations of the UK Royal Colleges.The compulsory clinical training component provides the clinical experience in diagnosis, patient treatment and management. The MSc provides the theoretical background and knowledge required for orthodontic practice. You submit a dissertation based on a research project in the third year of study.You are provided with one-to-one nurse support and a laptop configured to run over the University network with all necessary software. In addition, an annual travel grant is provided to enable you to participate in the Northern Universities Consortium for Orthodontic Teaching. This collaboration enables you to experience teaching from a wide base of clinical academics, many of whom are the leaders in their field.
