Marine Transport with Management
This programme is aimed at numerate graduates who wish to work in the international shipping, logistics and port industries. It provides you with the knowledge and skills relating to: shipping markets; logistics and supply chain management; investment appraisal; insurance; financial modelling and forecasting techniques; risk management; and international finance and capital markets.
You take a selection of taught modules (100 credits) and undertake a dissertation (80 credits). Compulsory modules (70 credits) include: marine transport and economics; research skills; design and analysis of marine transport systems; financial risk management and shipping; marine liability insurance and law; shipping market analysis; and supply chain management. You also select a further 30 credits from other marine and management modules, including: marine production technology; marine transport business; ship performance; management and communications; human resource management; and the international safety management (ISM) code.
