Program Description:

This programme aims to develop your skills to understand and analyse regional development, governance and policy in the European context. It also aims to develop the practical skills and capabilities required to engage, research and participate in the emergent regional development agenda.

You take compulsory modules (90 credits) and write a 15,000-word research dissertation (60 credits). The compulsory modules are: information skills; local and regional development theory and policy; local and regional development and governance; regional information society and the e-economy; regional development û methodology, analysis and statistics; dissertation preparation. You also choose optional modules (30 credits) from a wide range covering subjects such as: the state in the international political economy; law and institutions of the European Union; social divisions and inequality; the politics of global change.
