This flexible learning program is designed to provide training for recent graduates in full-time employment in industry. For the MSc you take a selection of taught modules (100 credits) and a work-based dissertation (80 credits). Compulsory modules (90 credits) include: introduction to flood risk management; meteorology, flood hydrology and climate change; data and information capture, retrieval and analysis; flood estimation and modeling; options for flood risk management; real-time flood forecasting and warning systems; flood management governance, planning and project appraisal; asset management of flood defenses and dams; coastal flood risk. An optional module (10 credits) is then taken: either sustainability and water resources or catchment modeling. For the Diploma you take a selection of taught modules (80 credits) and a work-based dissertation (40 credits).
