Program Description:

This programme aims to provide graduates from a range of scientific and engineering disciplines with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the nature, occurrence, characterisation and management of groundwater. The programme also provides theoretical and practical quantitative training relevant to the needs of the water and environmental engineering industries.
For the MSc you complete compulsory modules (90 credits) and optional modules (10 credits), followed by a research project written up as a dissertation (80 credits). For the Diploma you take similar compulsory modules (70 credits), one optional module (10 credits), and complete a 40-credit dissertation.
Compulsory modules include: groundwater modelling; groundwater assessment; aqueous geochemistry; data and hydroinformatics; hydrosystems and hydroinformatics; sustainability and water resources; remediation engineering for polluted groundwaters; and hydrostatigraphy. Optional modules include: environmental engineering for developing countries; hydroecology; contaminated land.
