Program Description:

This programme is based in the European Institute, the Department of Government and the Department of International Relations and offers the following benefits: Study in internationally renowned departments in the only UK institution devoted solely to the social sciences. The opportunity to draw on the expertise of the largest number of academic experts in European government, politics and public policy to be found in Europe, housed in the Department of Government, the European Institute and the Department of International Relations. Most of the key journals in the field, including West European Politics, the European Journal of Political Research and EU Politics are edited by the members of the teaching staff. A systematic multidisciplinary introduction – drawing on Comparative Political Science, International Relations, and European Law – to central controversies in the analysis of contemporary European Union government, politics and public policy, including the European integration process and its impact on the EU member states. The opportunity to specialise in either European Union Government and Policy or The International Relations of Europe. An excellent preparation for further research work or a career in EU institutions, national governments, business, politics, academia and journalism.
