Program Description:

The Research Division of Reproduction and Endocrinology encompasses a wide range of integrated research. It offers a unique research environment that facilitates the translation of good basic science to clinical application. The Division is based on two King's sites (Guys Hospital and the Maternal and Fetal Research Unit, St Thomas' Hospitals). Divisional research facilities include molecular biology, physiology and dedicated human stem cell laboratories and clinical assessment and blood pressure suites. The laboratories provide access to a wide range of techniques (eg real time PCR, siRNA technology, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, patch clamp electrophysiology, ELISA, tissue culture, fluorescent digital imaging, in vitro tension measurement and small vessel myograph). The Division is also integrated with Womens Health Clinical-Academic Group (CAG) which is part of King's Health Partners - a pioneering global collaboration whose driving purpose is to continually seek and bring about swifter and more effective improvements in health and well-being for our patients in London and people everywhere.
