PURPOSE The primary aim of the programme is to support students as they progress towards registered practitioner level and beyond, and to provide a framework within which they can acquire and demonstrate both generic transferable competencies and those specific to their area of practice. Applicants must normally have completed at least six months as a staff nurse and possess a minimum second class honours degree (or equivalent). This is a shortened programme over eighteen months. You will study normal midwifery practice, complex midwifery and obstetric situations, organisation and models of care, health promotion, newborn care and assessment, principal methods for health care research and evidence based decision making in health care.
