Carbon: Science, Society, & Change
The programme provides opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding and skills in the following areas: 1 How the carbon cycle functions and outline both natural and human influences on the global carbon cycle. 2 How societal strategies to curb the rise of carbon in the atmosphere can range from behavioural change and conservation, market based approaches or environmental management. 3 Demonstrating the scientific basis and the environmental consequences of steps taken to ameliorate the rise of atmospheric carbon. 4 Evaluating decisions aimed at reducing our carbon output and curbing the climate change crisis on a scientific basis.
