MA Broadcast Journalism, Pg.Dip. - Broadcast Journalism

Format: Campus

Program Description:

MA Broadcast Journalism will equip you with a thorough understanding of the social, economic, ethical, regulatory, political, legal, financial and technological frameworks within which broadcast news and current affairs operate. And you will also be able to make the best use of our broadcast quality digital recording studios, newsrooms and post-production suites. You may either apply and register for our Postgraduate Diploma in broadcast journalism, which runs for 30 weeks between October and June, or elect at the outset to specialise by applying and registering for MA Investigative Journalism, MA Science Journalism or MA Sports Journalism. With accreditation from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), we’ll equip you with the technical and analytical skills you need to step straight into the exciting and demanding world of broadcast journalism. In our industry-standard Media Centre, with support from our highly-experienced staff and guidance from industry professionals, you’ll learn to compile radio, television and online news bulletins, magazine programmes and feature reports. Acting in turn as news editor, presenter and reporter, you’ll also conduct live interviews using the latest digital equipment and gain a solid grounding in the legal and regulatory frameworks essential for understanding how radio and television news operate. Our ground-breaking MA also offers you the opportunity to specialise in sports, science or investigative journalism.
