De Montfort University
Computer-Aided Engineering Techniques
The Gateway, Leicester
The course trains students from a variety of numerate backgrounds in design, testing and application of numerical techniques for computer-aided engineering (CAE), ie the algorithms and processes that form the basis of a modern CAE system. Training with industrial-standard CAE software packages educates students in the use of these systems in an integrated manufacturing environment. There is a major shortage of specialists in the design and implementation of CAE systems and their component sub-systems. The course supplies these software specialists for which there is considerable demand in EU manufacturing industries.
