International Student Coordinator, Aston Triangle
With telecommunications technologies and the Internet becoming the cornerstone of modern economic development, there is an increasing need for people with the skills needed to design and manage the telecommunications and Internet infrastructure. This is not a static goal as the technology, and the demands placed upon it, are evolving at an ever-increasing rate. The aim of these programs is to prepare students, who will already have a technical background, with the requisite specialist knowledge and skills to develop and manage current systems and to adapt to the changing face of communications and Internet technology. On completing the programs, the students should be able to take active roles in a wide range of areas within the telecommunications industry. This area of industry is growing exponentially and there is a huge demand for skilled professionals both in the large telecommunications companies and in a number of smaller companies providing specialist Internet and communication services for the local business communities.
