Banking and Finance
The Master of Arts in Banking and Finance of the University of St. Gallen is one of the leading banking and finance programs in Switzerland. It is a three-semester full-time program.
The program's educational objectives can be subdivided into three dimensions:
functional dimension: comprehension of the function and significance of finance intermediation in the context of the present and future development of economic systems and their integration in the social, legal and political environment;
instrumental dimension: familiarity with the theory and practice of financial markets, with the operation and application of modern financial instruments, and with the core functions of modern finance management;
institutional dimension: knowledge of the core functions of planning, control and monitoring of financial institutions and their major business areas.
The overriding aim is the simultaneous and equivalent teaching of theory and leadership skills in the various fields, including a well-founded methodological competence and the ability to subject the various approaches to critical reflection.
