Program Description:

IMARES program (MA in Russian and Eurasian Studies) provides training in the politics, economy, society, and history of Russia and neighboring Eurasian states. It combines the highest standards of teaching in English by Russian and international faculty with the advantages of living in St. Petersburg, a world’s cultural capital. A separate teaching module on Empire and Islam is offered in Kazan, the city where Slavic and Turkic civilizations meet. We offer a multi-disciplinary curriculum and prepare for good careers in academia, public service and business. MARCA program (MA in Russian Culture and the Arts) offers unique courses in Russian/Soviet visual arts, architecture, history and society for graduate students in the humanities as well as on-site classes in world-renowned museums — the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the imperial residences, such as Peterhof, Tsarskoe Selo, Pavlovsk etc. delivered by lecturers with wide international experience from EUSP and other leading academic institutions. ENERPO (MA in Energy Politics in Eurasia) is a program which combines in-class training by leading Russian and international experts, master classes by leading representatives of the energy business community, and company visits. The courses combine the perspectives of political science, security studies, political economy, and anthropology. European University at St. Petersburg remains the only university in Russia approved by the U.S. Department of Education for federal study loans. It is the only full-fledged international university in the country combining cutting edge research and individualized training in a compact high-end graduate school.
