Canterbury's programmes in Engineering are ranked first in New Zealand (The NZ Government's Tertiary Education Commission's latest Performance Based Research Fund quality assessment). UC's Electrical and Electronic Engineering department has a strong research focus, and the University hosts an Electric Power Engineering Research Centre. Many of the department's research groups are internationally recognised for the leading roles they play in their respective fields. With around 100 active postgraduate researchers, postgraduate life in the Department is also very active and lively, with a regular series of research seminars held to expose students to a broad range of leading edge work.
Please note that international students only pay domestic fees for study at PhD level.
