The Master course aims at creating Fashion Designers: explorers of the fashion trends, creative professionals able to link theoretical concepts, innovation, organization and relationship skills to the production world.
The pathway aims at training fashion professionals, who are able to design and coordinate clothing collections by starting from the research and the analysis of the contemporary trends and, then, by supervising the technical development of the garments and their production through the assessment of their feasibility, reproducibility and costs.
Graduates in Fashion Design from similar fields, those with diplomas from private, university-level fashion schools. Professionals with at least two years experience in the sector.
Through a pathway consisting of modular studies, the students of the Fashion Design Master Course will have to approach a series of subjects that test and point out their skills in the drawing and in the use of manual techniques linked to the world of the knitwear and to the design, printing and reprocessing of fabrics without ignoring the important technological support of the most well-known IT programs.
Beyond the technological-instrumental courses, the Fashion Design Master Course includes cultural subjects that underline historical and sociological aspects necessary to design and develop a fashion project.
In order to allow each student to face a collection plan with the proper tools and knowledge, each project (menswear, womenswear and knitwear) has been divided into essential segments and complementary segments: from the knowledge of the materials and the modeling and tailoring techniques up to the analytic study of the trends that - once identified and selected - will be useful to create original collections in terms of image that are able to communicate the stylistic identity of the designer.
By starting from a deep analysis of the most relevant pieces of clothes, a commercial feasibility will be considered by studying both the possible production at industrial level and a costs and pricing evaluation.
The Istituto Europeo di Design, located in Italy, allows students to study for a Bachelor of Arts degree. The students that successfully complete the 3-year course obtain the Diploma Accademico di I Livello, which is legally recognized by the MIUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research) in the category of High Artistic Training (Ministerial Decree 10 December 2010 n. 292).
