MA in Development

Format: Campus

Program Description:

Dublin City University's graduate programme in international governance has three separate MA degrees available: MA in Development (Full-time and Part-time, mixed Mode) MA in International Relations (Full-time and Part-time) MA in International Security and Conflict Studies Until recently, development cooperation focused on sending personnel from donor states to developing states. Today, the focus is on building capacity in developing states themselves and dealing with the global structural barriers to development such as trade and debt. This MA develops your understanding of development issues, looking at different approaches to the causes of underdevelopment and policy responses. Students will be introduced to the different perspectives on development from governments of developing states, from donor countries and agencies, from development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the major international development institutions (e.g. IMF, World Bank).
