MSc. International Shipping, Finance and Management
The Interdepartmental MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management (ISFM) comprises a unique combination of knowledge areas, which are essential for those employed or are interested to find work in the International Shipping industry. This is achieved through a modern, well-structured program, which combines reading of the international literature, laboratory classes, case studies, teaching and an academic dissertation. The academic members of staff involved in the program are producing highly pioneering research in their respective fields of study. Business executives are also invited as keynote speakers in the program. All of the above are disseminated in the curricula of the course units to make up a distinct educational program. The professors of the MSc in ISFM are Ph.D. holders. They have solid educational backgrounds, significant professional work experience, influential scientific publications and presentations in international conferences. Their work has gained international recognition, have received teaching prizes by Greek and non-Greek universities, and are members of important international associations and committees. All the above constitute a distinguished learning environment which is conducive to the promotion of academic research, thus allowing the MSc in ISFM to be highly competitive in the job market, enabling graduates to obtain immediate work placement. The program offers both compulsory and elective course units.
The first semester comprises five (5) compulsory course units, each of five (5) ECTS and two (2) compulsory course units each of two and a half (2.5) ECTS. The second semester comprises two (2) compulsory course units, each of five (5) ECTS, and a number of optional course units which that add to a total of twenty (20) ECTS. During the second semester a compulsory dissertation is undertaken, which is equivalent to fifteen (15) ECTS.

The two (2) semesters are each divided into four (4) bimonthly periods. At the end of each bimonthly period there are examinations for the course units of the period.
The aim of the Interdepartmental MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management (ISFM) is the training of graduates and executives that are eager to find employment or are already working in the fields of Shipping, Finance and Management and wish to obtain a higher level of professional development through an English speaking postgraduate program. The objective of the MSc is the education and training of highly qualified business executives that possess the necessary knowledge and ability to operate at the highest level of the business community in the areas of Shipping, Finance and Management.
