Advanced Construction and Building Technology - Automation, Robotics, Services
The subjects of this course aim at expanding the professional core competence in construction while responding to changing technological, social and ecological circumstances. This involves three topics the master course focuses on, besides others: The increasing importance of microsystem technology, the ongoing shift towards automation and robotics (in the industries, but also with growing dynamics in private homes: because of the demographic change, intelligent assistive technologies radically gain importance), and furthermore the accentuated indispensability of interdisciplinarity and cross-linked thinking with respect to innovation and market opportunities.
The Master Course Advanced Construction and Building Technology combines these competences to a new curriculum. In a holistic approach, the deployment of new technologies is considered in each phase of the life cycle of a building. This synopsis, including the management of technology, processes and projects, its technological interdependencies and socio-economical boundary constraints, results in the worldwide uniqueness of our program.
A wide-spread theoretical basic knowledge (theory), the impartation of methods and tools for problem solution and project realization (methodology), and the possibility to acquire problem and interest specific knowledge (specialization) is the foundation of the Master Course. During the first Semester, primarily basic knowledge is imparted. During the 2nd and 3rd Semester, the project work as well as the elective courses is given priority. In the 4th semester, dedicated to the Master Thesis, the learned basic and specific knowledge as well as the learnt skills and methods are flowing together.

International Student Requirements:
1. Applications are open to candidates with an above-average Bachelor’s degree (at least 6 semesters) or equivalent certificate from a recognized university in the interdisciplinary area of the master Course Advanced Construction and Building Technology.
2. If English is not your native language, nor the official language of tuition of your previous course of study, a TOEFL, an IELTS or an examination of the Cambridge main suit of English is required.
3. To be finally admitted to the course, usually a successful completion of the entrance exam (interview/skype interview) for the master’s degree in Advanced Construction and Building Technology is required.
