German Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences (GeT MA)
Dual-Master of Arts in Social Sciences from Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin and Middle East Technical Univeristy, Ankara
The German Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences (GeT MA) is a unique, interdisciplinary, two-year masters program, which prepares students for international careers in government agencies, NGOs, administration, journalism or research.
The program is operated by the Institute for Social Sciences of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Graduate School of Social Sciences of the Middle East Technical University’s (METU) in Ankara. Students spend the first year of study at METU before coming to Berlin to finalize their studies. Upon completion of all study requirements, a Dual-Master of Arts in Social Sciences is awarded from both universities. At both universities, the language of instruction for GeT MA courses is English, but students may take additional language classes in Turkish or German in the summer break and throughout the academic year. Students who are already proficient in both languages may choose to enrol in courses in a third language.
During the summer break before the second year, students have the opportunity to enrich their academic experience in these two countries by undertaking a 3-month internship, either in Turkey or in Berlin. We highly recommend gaining insights to professional life in both countries.
