Graduate programs in the Department of Animal Science may encompass a range of activities, and students should expect to receive experience in laboratory analysis, experimental design and analysis, and work with animals, depending on the research project. Research programs will frequently involve collaborative work with other Departments at the University of Manitoba, or with industry or government partners. The Department also participates in the Inter-departmental Ph.D. program in Food and Nutritional Sciences. There is a strong international orientation to graduate studies in the Department of Animal Science since many of our students are from outside Canada.
