Ph.D. - History, M.A. - History
The Department offers both M.A. and Ph.D. programs. Graduate students will take several courses including a course in Historiography. These courses will be tailored to fit both student interest and the diversity of the discipline. Resources are particularly strong in Canadian history (especially social, gender, native, military, British Columgia), western American history and British history. Study is also possible in certain areas of continental European history and Asian history and several thematic areas, such as intellectual, labour, military, medieval, native, religious, social, womens'/gender and world history. The M.A. combines course work and a thesis. The Ph.D. requires the successful completion of courses, oral and written comprehensive examinations, and a thesis.
