Master's - Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of Alberta has a vigourous faculty pursuing world-class research. The program leads to Master’s and/or PhD degrees in :
• Behaviour, Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience
• Comparative Cognition and Behaviour
• Developmental Science
• Social and Cultural Psychology
The goal of the graduate program is to train competent and independent researchers who will make significant contributions to the discipline of psychology. The program entails early and sustained involvement in research and ensures that students attain expertise in focal and related domains. Many faculty members conduct research on problems that have practical and social significance.
Recent Ph.D.s from the Department have successfully found positions in universities and colleges, branches of government, and industry.
We offer full funding packages (research and teaching assistantships) to all incoming students, competitive with other top universities. Supplementary funding is available for students with major scholarships.
Facilities consist of office space for graduate students, state-of-the-art research laboratories, Psychology Shop, Instructional Technology and Resources Lab, and a Computer Lab.
International Student Requirements:
Previous degree from an English-language institution, or satisfactory score on the TOEFL or other acceptable English-language proficiency test.
