Program Description:

This programme prepares you as a professional economist dealing with national and international issues in the area of food, agriculture and development of rural areas. It develops your ability to apply economic knowledge, analytical tools and skills to policy problems in a wide range of areas including food security, agricultural markets liberalisation, and integrated development of rural areas and alleviation of rural poverty. The programme provides options to enable you to study related subjects in the agri-environment area, and trade and development. The University of Kent was founded in 1965 and since then has achieved prominence as one of Britain's most innovative and enterprising universities. Our students come from many different backgrounds (there are over 110 nationalities represented at Kent) giving a rich cultural variety on campus. Students come from Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, the United States, Nigeria and Europe as well as from the UK.
