Advanced Studies: Industrial Pharmacist
The purpose of these advanced studies is to offer an extensive training in the wide scope of functions which an industrial pharmacist, working in a pharmaceutical enterprise, will have to assume. These functions include among others: the production of drugs, quality control, development of galenic forms, registration of drug preparations, clinical research, experimental and clinical pharmacology, regulatory affairs, marketing responsibilities. Industrial pharmacists work also as product and sales managers, clinical associates, medical writers, persons responsible for publicity and information, administrative co-workers in medical departments, etc. The programme deals with analysis and quality control, pharmaceutical technology, management-legislation-economics, clinical research, biotechnology, and contains additional optional courses. This professional training is organised through a cooperation between the four Flemish universities and the pharmaceutical industry.
