M.A. - Cultural Policy
International Relations deals with some of the most pressing issues of world politics: the causes of war and peace, the pressures and opportunities of globalisation, the threats posed by terrorism and nuclear proliferation, and the problems of global poverty and injustice.
Griffith's graduate programs in International Relations are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to confront the challenges presented by contemporary world politics. They are intended for graduates who might want to work for governments, non-governmental organisations (NGO), the media or international business, as well as for students who may wish to carry on to research degrees. The programs draw upon our established expertise in international relations theory, foreign policy analysis, security studies, international political economy, and Asian studies.
Griffith University has a long tradition of excellence in Asian studies, politics and international relations. Griffith was the first university in Australia to offer courses in Asian studies. The university now plays host to one of the largest concentrations of scholars in Asian studies, politics and international relations, as well as two internationally-recognised research centres, the Griffith Asia Institute and the Centre for Governance and Public Policy. In addition, 'Asian politics, security and development' has been designated one of the university's 8 Areas of Strategic Investment in research.
We have international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - International. This accreditation is considered one of the highest achievements for an educational institution, with less than five per cent of the world's business schools receiving the accolade.
Griffith Business School is recognised by the Aspen Institute's ‘Top 100’ for its leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its programs. Our MBA was ranked #27 in the world, which is the highest Australian ranking, in the 2009-2010 Beyond Grey Pinstripes Global Top 100.
