About Us

Washington University School of Law was founded in 1867 and is the oldest continually operating private law school west of the Mississippi. Housed on campus in Anheuser-Busch Hall, the School of Law has more than 700 students and more than 100 faculty members. The School of Law’s mission is to be the best place in the country to learn to be a lawyer; to be a community creating understanding research and providing service to the world; and to be a school structured around the most current and important ideas bearing upon the law. Washington University School of Law is ranked in the top 20 of American law schools by U.S. News and World Report.
