About Us

Founded in 1925, the University of Miami is consistently and consecutively ranked as a top 50 national university and the number one private university in Florida. With more than 15,000 students from over 100 countries, the University of Miami is a vibrant and diverse academic community, hosting 11 schools and college, situated on several campuses located in and around the city of Miami.

The College of Arts & Sciences is the largest academic unit in the university, with over 450 faculty and a 10:1 student-faculty ratio. 97% of all students take at least one class in the college and 40% of all students major within Arts & Sciences (A&S). A&S is comprised of 20 departments and 15 interdisciplinary programs, and is home to a growing catalog of professional graduate programs. Leveraging Miami as a living laboratory and a hemispheric hub for commerce, communication, and culture, studying in Miami is a truly unique and cosmopolitan experience, not to mention that the average annual temperature is 82°F/27°C.
