Taking the GMAT can be costly and require preparation you just don’t have time for. Fortunately, some graduate accounting programs may prioritize other aspects of your applications, like your GPA, letters of recommendation, and your personal statement.

Can You Skip the GMAT for Your Accounting Master’s?
While some MBA or MS in Accounting programs don’t require the GMAT, others offer a different path to potentially skipping the exam: waivers. To be eligible for a waiver, you may have to meet particular requirements. For instance, the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University may grant waivers to applicants who meet certain criteria, such as having an undergrad GPA of at least 3.4 or completing a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Check with your prospective school to learn more!
Look for Accreditation
Just because an online Master’s in Accounting program waives the GMAT doesn’t mean the program has low standards. Reputable, accredited programs may opt to forgo test scores in favor of other admissions criteria. In fact, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business may accredit business schools that waive the GMAT, including The University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management. What are state requirements for a Masters In Accounting?
