SEX THERAPY

About the field of Sex Therapy: Sex Therapy deals with physical and psychological problems relating to sexual relations, and the professional and ethical treatment approaches to sexual function and expression problems. It focuses on techniques of counseling, psychotherapy, behavior modification and marital therapy. Students will study medical and physiological issues, disorders and dysfunctions, relationship issues, and environmental and relationship factors. They will learn about abuse, trauma and deviance, as well as hone their interviewing, therapeutic, communication, interpersonal and assessment skills. Graduates can become sex therapists, psychosexual therapists, sex addiction counselors, marriage counselors and more.
