About the field of Pathology, Human: Human Pathology is a branch of medicine focused on the cause, origin and nature of disease, and includes the changes that occur as a result of disease. It involves the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease, and the pathology of major organ systems. Students will utilize diagnostic tools, functional and molecular imaging, and molecular diagnostics. They will study toxicological pathology, oncology, neuropathology, hematology, immunopathology, cardiovascular pathology and the path of infectious disease. Graduates can become surgical pathologists, autopsy pathologists, clinical pathologists, general pathologists and academic pathologists.
