About the field of Health Sciences: Health sciences is a multidisciplinary field focused on the study, research and knowledge of health. Those in the health sciences apply that knowledge to improve health, cure disease and understand how humans and animals function. It incorporates the fields of biology, chemistry, physics and social science. Students who study this age-old field will utilize their research, technical, laboratory, computing and mathematics skills. They will focus on issues such as childbirth, medical ethics, and traditional and non-traditional medicine. Students can choose from numerous specializations and concentrations. Graduates can look forward to careers as varied as being a midwife or an allied health specialist, with other fields such as medical practitioner, gerontologist and community health manager ranging in between.
