About the field of Geology and Earth Sciences: The Geology and Earth Sciences are overlapping fields that involve the scientific study of origin, history and structure of the earth. It is a multidisciplinary field that incorporates astronomy, tectonics, paleontology, biology, chemistry, geography and physics. Students will use their skills in mathematics, critical thinking and research to discover the interrelationships between humans and geology (and other sciences). They will utilize GSI, and study environmental resources and their management. Students will study the processes of air, water, land and life, as well as define the natural limits of resources and ecosystems. Graduates can enter careers as geologists, environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, atmospheric scientists, oceanographers, and more.
