ECOLOGY
Graduate School Programs - Master's, Ph.D.
Ecology focuses on the science of relationships between organisms and their environments, as well as the effects of civilization on the environment. It is an interdisciplinary field that touches on biology, physiology, anthropology, geography and the humanities. Students will explore current ecological methods, theories, concepts, controversies and applications. They will collect, monitor, record, analyze and present data, as well as identify plants and animals. Conservation is often a major emphasis, and students will engage in a significant amount of field work. Ecology majors can enter career fields such as human, aquatic, forest and wildlife ecology, and work as environmental engineers, ecology scientists, environmental scientists, field naturalists and more.
