The field of Bioengineering/ Biological Engineering Bioengineers work at the forefront of medicine and technology with the goal of improving life for a variety of patients, ranging from those with muscular problems to amputees. Their work also affects the pharmaceutical industry, as some bioengineers develop highly advanced drug-delivery systems. Bioengineers must be familiar with statistics , computers , engineering , physics , chemistry , and medicine , as well as a host of other areas. Graduate students in bioengineering take classes such as computational bioengineering and integrative physiology, and therefore must possess the ability to work in areas both intellectually demanding and academically rigorous.
